Early Beginnings

Born into the vibrant culture of Angola in 1977, Lwena’s artistic journey began with the rhythm of gymnastics at the tender age of six. Soon after, her family’s move to Portugal opened the doors to ballet, where she embraced the discipline and grace of dance under the prestigious Royal Academy of Dance graded system. Her passion for movement flourished, leading her to explore the dynamic worlds of jazz and contemporary dance with the Ballet Teatro Contemporaneo do Porto.

A Diverse Tapestry of Arts

Lwena’s artistic pursuits took a melodious turn towards the end of her secondary education, as she discovered a deep-seated passion for singing. Lwena’s first experience of vocal training was at Ballet Teatro Contemporaneo do Porto where she was fulfilling her childhood dream of studying full time to become a professional dancer. Her exceptional talent and dedication caught the eye of Seiva Trupe, a prestigious theatre company in Porto, inviting her to shine on stage as both a dancer and actress.

London’s Calling

The vibrant city of London beckoned Lwena next, offering her a canvas to further enrich her performance skills. Immersed in the city’s eclectic arts scene, she gained invaluable experience in dance and vocal performance, gracing stages such as Wembley Arena and The Royal Albert Hall. London also marked a pivotal chapter in her musical journey, where she met Steve Wellington (AKA Deadlox Holmes), her co-writer and music producer. Together, they created soul-stirring melodies that showcased Lwena’s versatility as an artist.

Educator and Mentor

Despite her success on stage, Lwena was only 14 years old when she began dreaming of running her own dance school and started teaching at 17, shaping the next generation of dancers. Her commitment to education led her to the Royal Academy of Dance in London, where she became a RAD-registered teacher, embodying the spirit of dance and music in her teachings.

Lwena’s journey from the gymnastics floors of Angola to the prestigious stages of London is a testament to her dedication, talent, and passion for the arts. As a dancer, singer, and educator, she continues to inspire those around her, leaving an indelible mark on the world of performance art.
