Our Story: A Duet of Life and Art

Encounter in the melting pot of London

In the bustling metropolis of London, the year 2000 marked the beginning of a serendipitous duet when Martin and I crossed paths. A shared love for music and performance became the rhythm to our melody, culminating in a harmonious union in 2005. Together, we’ve danced through life, our synergy resonating through bands, Open Mic nights, and the soulful ambiance of gospel worship.

Inspiration and Dreams Interwoven

The birth of our first daughter brought a new tempo to our lives. Her tiny feet pointing with the poise of a prima ballerina and her innate bounce to the beat of music ignited in me a renewed purpose. With the esteemed Royal Academy of Dance, I honed my craft to nurture the seed of artistry sprouting within her.

The Inception of a Dream

As our little girl approached the whimsical age of four, her continued passion for dance was a sign clear as day. It was time to bring a long-cherished dream to life. Alongside Martin, whose unwavering support was my cornerstone, we laid the foundations of our very own ballet school in Norwich—a place where little dreams could pirouette into grand realities.

M & L School of Performing Arts: A Legacy Unfolds

Our journey together took a new turn as we rooted ourselves in Newmarket, blending our collective talents and vast experiences into one vision. In April 2015, the M & L School of Performing Arts was born, a sanctuary for the next generation of artists. The close of 2015 celebrated another gift—our second daughter’s arrival. With her first pointed toes, the legacy continues, as if the very essence of our school was encapsulated in that tender gesture. Join us and discover why we’re among the best ballet schools in the UK.
